Overview
In this role you protect people and property by delivering security services aligned with site instructions and KPIs. You act as the first point of contact for the security team, ensuring standards, training, and procedures are followed to support contract retention. You will support on-site monitoring, incident handling, and liaison with clients, contributing to continuous improvement and data protection compliance. The position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills and help sustain safe, well-run sites.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day security operations and act as the lead on-site for the security team
- Ensure dress standards, discipline, and conduct are maintained
- Assist in ongoing training of resident security teams and induct new officers
- Promote teamwork and maintain high morale through motivation
- Support performance reviews and development of security personnel
- Assist investigations of security incidents (thefts, missing items, complaints)
- Provide liaison with customers/clients as required
- Ensure adherence to Assignment Instructions by security and shipping staff
- Maintain up-to-date security records and logs
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws for the team
- Communicate important messages via Security Handover and ensure acknowledgement
Key requirements
- SIA Licence
- SC Clearance desirable
- Good literacy and communication skills (verbal and written English)
- Computer and software literacy
- Reliability, self-motivation, and ability to work without supervision
- Problem solving, decision making, and prioritisation abilities
- Ability to motivate staff and manage time effectively
