Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will deliver expert mechanical engineering for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and ensure robust, regulated design. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into reliable, compliant designs while guiding project milestones toward volume production. You will model best practices, mentor graduates and apprentices, and promote safety and quality governance. Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise for subsystems and technology developments on projects
• Support Mechanical Engineering activities across multiple projects
• Promote best-practice engineering to improve time, cost, quality and specification while ensuring governance for safety, compliance, quality and reliability
• Help create and distribute work packages across cross-functional teams to drive milestones to completion and volume production
• Ensure product development meets stakeholder requirements and complies with relevant regulations and standards by design
• Act as a role model for graduates and apprentices, providing training and maintaining consistency and quality

Key requirements

• Bachelor level engineering degree (minimum)
• 3D and 2D CAD skills
• Experience and understanding of mechanical design in a regulated industry (desirable)
• Design for x principles (manufacture, cost, assembly, maintainability) (essential)
• Ability to interpret requirements and deliver robust design solutions
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design engineering best practices
• Willingness for ongoing professional development
• Capability to work to project milestones and timescales
• Experience with safety and compliance standards in semiconductor equipment (desirable)
