In this Counsel role within the Commercial Law Group, you will structure, draft, and negotiate vendor agreements with a focus on market data and technology contracts. You will act as a key legal advisor on BNY’s market data strategy, collaborating with stakeholders across the business, Legal, and sourcing teams to shape strategic direction. You will support governance, sourcing, and risk management for market data procurement and vendor relationships, staying abreast of licensing, regulatory developments, and industry trends. Responsibilities
- Structure, draft, and negotiate market data and technology-related vendor agreements
- Advise on market data strategy and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape direction
- Support governance, sourcing, and risk management for market data procurement and vendor relationships
- Maintain awareness of licensing, regulatory expectations, and industry trends; update documentation and processes accordingly
Key requirements
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience
- Experience negotiating market data agreements, technology, and commercial arrangements
- Demonstrated or strong interest in AI, automation, and advanced legal technology
- Strong legal and analytical skills for complex contractual and commercial models
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in financial services for market data and third-party arrangements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
