Overview

In this role, you will lead assessments of the firm’s internal controls as part of Internal Audit, partnering with cross-functional teams to strengthen governance and risk management. You’ll plan and execute audits, identify control gaps, and communicate findings to senior management, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. You will operate in a fast-paced, global environment, driving improvements in controls and risk culture. This is an opportunity to shape how the firm manages risk across functions and product areas.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of business areas, products, and supporting functions
  • Plan and execute audit testing to ensure fieldwork focuses on high-risk areas and documentation meets quality standards
  • Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and propose improvements to the control environment
  • Prepare audit conclusions and findings and present to IA senior management and business clients
  • Follow up on open audit issues and their resolution
  • Participate in department-wide initiatives to improve IA processes and supporting infrastructure

Key requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or internal audit within financial services or related control function
  • 4-year degree in finance, accounting, or quantitative discipline; graduate degree preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as CPA, ICAEW, CFA, CIA are a plus
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts and operations related to controllers and tax functions
  • Knowledge of Basel, CCAR/ICAAP, Recovery and Resolution, SEC US GAAP accounting or IFRS, and regulatory/reporting controls
