Overview
In this role you will lead and shape ground investigations for a range of technically interesting projects. You will work within a specialist geotechnical team to deliver high standards to clients while mentoring junior staff. You’ll own project delivery from inception to completion, coordinating site work, reporting, and technical solutions. This is a collaborative, development‑driven opportunity at an established Sheffield consultancy.

Responsibilities
- Plan and manage ground investigations from inception to completion
- Undertake site investigations, walkovers and in-situ testing
- Supervise and support junior engineers and site teams
- Produce soil and rock logs
- Prepare Phase 1 Desk Studies and interpretive reports
- Produce factual and interpretive ground investigation reports
- Liaise with clients, contractors and project stakeholders
- Contribute to project planning, technical solutions and delivery
- Review technical work and maintain high standards
Key requirements
- Relevant degree as stated
- Several years’ experience in the ground investigation industry
- Strong technical knowledge and communication skills
- Ability to own projects and support less experienced colleagues
- Full UK driving licence, right to work in the UK, and ability to commute to Sheffield
