Overview
In this role you will lead medical care for adults with complex eating disorders in the NCED inpatient unit at Birch Ward, West Park Hospital. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment, including pharmacological and MHA interventions, while collaborating with the community ED service. You will contribute to service development in line with the Trust’s Integrated Business Plan and with the CPA framework. This is a high-responsibility post in a regional specialist center, offering a challenging, impactful role in a large mental health trust.

Responsibilities
- Lead medical management of eating disorder inpatients, including pharmacological and MHA interventions
- Provide direct clinical care and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
- Engage with the CPA process and attend relevant team meetings
- Work with ward management and medical leadership to plan and develop the service
- Coordinate with the community consultant in eating disorders to ensure integrated care
- Contribute to service development in line with the Trust Integrated Business Plan
Key requirements
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register within 6 months of gaining CCT
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Experience of working within the specialty
