Overview
As a Security Design Engineer in our London office, you will lead security installation design on nationwide projects within a built-environment context. You’ll work with a design team to develop strategies, perform calculations, and produce drawings and specifications. Your role blends technical design with supplier and client collaboration, ensuring compliance with standards while advancing sustainability goals. This position offers exposure to advanced security concepts and cross-disciplinary collaboration within a consultancy setting.

Responsibilities
- Own design strategies and concept development for security installations
- Conduct design calculations for major building projects’ security systems
- Produce design drawings, diagrams, schematics, specifications and schedules
- Ensure security designs meet relevant Industry standards and British Standards
- Report on security systems and interdependencies during meetings
- Collaborate within a design team to meet project briefs and programme
- Manage client relationships, interpret needs and confirm project briefs
- Promote the business’s services externally and contribute to sustainability initiatives
Key requirements
- Experience in security infrastructure design, preferably in a consultancy environment
- Knowledge of the RIBA design process and Whole Life Performance is advantageous
- Experience in Intelligent Buildings/Connected Cities/Future Tech is advantageous
- Understanding of security systems and ability to discuss interdependencies
