Principal Manufacturing Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide Test Engineering expertise across the full development lifecycle from concept to Production Readiness Review
• Support and configure test facilities with controlled equipment, producing test specs and operator instructions
• Test electrical, electronic systems and RF components; diagnose failures to card or component level
• Recommend corrective actions for technical issues
• Collaborate with Operations, design teams and stakeholders to overcome engineering challenges
• Mentor junior engineers and guide the Test Engineering Team Lead
• Work within a small, diverse team in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment

Key requirements

• HNC or equivalent qualification (HND or degree preferred) with substantial electronics manufacturing experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic and RF measurement principles
• Hands-on experience with manual and automated test equipment in a defence or regulated setting
• Experience across the product development lifecycle in electronics manufacturing
• Ability to plan and prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to produce test specs, operator instructions and technical reports
