Overview

In this role you will execute Emerging Market Debt (EMD) orders for a global client book, focusing on hard currency markets and potentially local debt. You will work on the London Trading Desk with cross-border collaboration to contribute to portfolio alpha while upholding best execution and risk controls. You’ll analyze market information to spot opportunities and build liquidity through PMs and the market. The position offers meaningful scope to add value through collaboration, process improvement, and technology-enabled trading.

Responsibilities

  • Execute EMD transactions using high-touch and low-touch methods across accounts
  • Ensure execution aligns with best practices and risk controls
  • Gather and analyze market, sector, and security information to identify opportunities
  • Develop understanding of PM/strategist/analyst investment philosophies
  • Solicit trade interest from PMs and locate liquidity (external supply/internal demand)
  • Stay informed on new product developments
  • Foster and leverage trading relationships
  • Monitor and improve efficiency while mitigating risk

Key requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant trading experience in debt markets within Emerging Markets
  • Experience trading cash and derivatives; broad instrument exposure is advantageous
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and a risk management mindset
  • Strong analytical skills with practical application
