Overview
As a Senior Project Controls Engineer, you will lead planning-focused project controls for Defence infrastructure programs, collaborating with project managers and teams to develop and maintain schedules, assess progress, and guide change management. You’ll help reduce uncertainty, articulate risks, and provide status insights to leadership, while supporting complex, MoD-related projects on client sites or offices. This role offers impact across a multi-disciplinary environment with hybrid working and a clear delivery focus.

Responsibilities
- Create and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements
- Develop schedules with the project manager and team
- Reduce uncertainty and improve efficiency
- Coordinate with project managers to plan work and assign tasks
- Evaluate schedule progress and identify potential problem areas
- Support change management processes and procedures
- Assist in developing status reports for management
- Analyze alternatives for recovering slipped schedules
Key requirements
- Degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience
- Professional Project Controls experience with planning & scheduling across the project lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of Primavera (P6) and other planning/resourcing software
- Proficiency in earned value management techniques
- Experience with NEC contracts is desirable
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, PMI)
- Ability to coordinate with other teams and maintain multi-disciplinary knowledge
- Strong leadership with the ability to mobilise, inspire and lead by example
