Join SSE’s SSEN Transmission Onshore as a Civil Project Engineer, supporting high-value, technically complex projects on Scotland’s electricity transmission network. You will take projects from concept through construction, delivering civil solutions for major infrastructure. Define scopes, specifications and manage tenders, while leading design reviews, HAZID and risk assessment with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver civil engineering solutions across large transmission and substation projects
• Support engineering design from concept to construction and commissioning (site development, earthworks, drainage, access, infrastructure)
• Define engineering scopes, prepare technical specifications, evaluate tenders, manage specialist services
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the project lifecycle
• Contribute to design reviews, engineering assurance, HAZID and risk assessment activities
• Promote safety culture via CDM compliance and industry best practices, identifying engineering risks and opportunities

Key requirements

• Degree, HND, or equivalent in Civil Engineering or substantial relevant industry experience
• Strong technical knowledge of industry standards and CDM Regulations
• Experience delivering civil engineering solutions for major infrastructure/utilities/energy projects
• Solid understanding of civil engineering principles including earthworks, drainage, geotechnical and structural engineering
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders
• Ability to manage technical risk and support engineering decision-making
• For Senior Civil Engineer, leadership and mentoring experience (preferred)
