Bid Manager

Overview

In this role you lead the full bid lifecycle for EQUANS Connected Cities, shaping strategies and coordinating cross-functional inputs to win high-value infrastructure bids. You’ll ensure bids reflect strategic priorities and technical strengths in street lighting, highways tech, and smart city solutions. You drive win themes, governance, and risk management to support revenue growth and a strong contract portfolio. This is a hands-on, decision-driven role with significant autonomy and impact on major public-sector and private projects.

Responsibilities

• lead end-to-end bid management across 2m–100m opportunities
• shape pursuit strategy, win themes, and bid content
• coordinate inputs from operations, commercial, legal, finance, digital, and technical teams
• manage bid risk, governance, and compliance checks
• drive quality and competitiveness of submissions to support revenue growth
• navigate public-sector procurement processes and frameworks
• lead multi-disciplinary bid teams towards timely, compelling responses
• balance client insight with corporate strategy to maximise win probability

Key requirements

• APMP or equivalent accreditation
• significant experience in end-to-end bid management, preferably in infrastructure/highways/energy services
• track record of leading and winning multi-million-pound bids and frameworks
• strong understanding of PCR, local authority tendering, and competitive dialogue
• ability to develop strategy, win themes, and structured content
• experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams including commercial, legal, finance, and technical experts
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
