Overview

As Risk Manager you will join the Project Controls Team to oversee risk on high-profile infrastructure programmes across energy, renewables, defence, rail and utilities. You will identify threats and opportunities, shape actionable risk responses, and monitor exposure against budgets and schedules. You’ll produce clear risk reports for senior leadership and apply quantitative methods to inform contingency planning. This role offers the chance to influence risk strategy on major projects within a collaborative, growth-focused firm.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities, and issues
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points for risk cost profiling and budget timing
  • Assist with development of measurable management responses and assess post-mitigation positions
  • Monitor overall risk exposure against remaining budget and timeline
  • Produce and present fit-for-purpose risk reports to senior management
  • Understand quantitative risk assessment to inform contingency and time risk allowance levels
  • Demonstrate competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA or similar
  • Familiarity with web-based database/reporting tools – ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI

Key requirements

  • Integrated risk management solutions across portfolios, programmes and projects
  • Risk and Scenario Analysis workshop facilitation
  • Development of proactive threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation
  • Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment including probabilistic modelling (@risk, PRA or equivalent)
  • Broad understanding of Project Controls methodology and risk management interactions
  • Experience in a risk delivery role on major projects/programmes or blue-chip clients
  • Project experience in energy, renewables, defence, rail and utilities desired
  • Attainment or working towards IRM / APM risk certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to improving ways of working
