Overview
In this Lead Quality Engineer role, you will shape and sustain a robust quality management system to meet customer, regulatory, and AS/EN9100 expectations. You will partner across HSE and IT to align an integrated approach, driving continuous improvement and risk-based thinking. You’ll lead audits, control documents, and analyze process data to reduce friction and boost compliance. This position offers impact across manufacturing operations with a focus on delivering tangible quality improvements.
Responsibilities
- Define, implement and maintain the quality management system framework and governance
- Embed customer, regulatory, AS/EN9100 and IATF 16949 requirements into business processes
- Lead and improve internal audits, support external audit activity
- Drive document control and manage changes to the management system
- Analyse process performance data to identify root causes and promote sustainable improvement
- Collaborate across HSE and IT to align and develop an integrated management system approach
Key requirements
- A degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, with AS9100 and/or IATF 16949 experience as an advantage
- Proven experience developing management systems in a manufacturing environment, including process mapping, risk assessment and effective process control
- Qualified internal auditor experience, with lead auditor qualification highly desirable
- Practical understanding of automotive core tools such as APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA and PPAP
