Overview

As a Senior Architect at Travelers, you will lead and shape technology strategy during a major transformation. You’ll drive AI-powered initiatives, API and event-driven architectures, and cross-functional collaboration to modernize the tech estate. Your work will influence governance, delivery roadmaps, and architectural guidance across complex applications. Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to architecture efforts, roadmaps, and design recommendations.
  • Facilitate governance processes for projects (blueprints, design reviews).
  • Define stability and performance strategies for applications and technology domains.
  • Input to portfolio prioritization and remediation escalation for performance issues.
  • Promote adoption of new concepts, best practices, and architectural patterns.
  • Collaborate with other architects, development teams, and OAI-Sys employees.
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives like Centers of Excellence and own deliverables.
  • Participate in development/production support of utilities and related deliverables.
  • Contribute to vendor/product management strategies and deliverables for evaluations/PoCs.
  • Execute the architectural strategy day-to-day and perform additional duties as assigned.

Key requirements

  • Working knowledge of architecture directions across enterprise, application, and information contexts.
  • Experience with SDLC and product/project management.
  • Knowledge of Java, .NET, SQL and SOA; broad experience across multiple technologies.
  • Ability to influence in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience in multiple technologies and architectures including J2EE, Web Application Development, SOA & Web Services, and middleware/DB familiarity.
  • Experience engaging with business stakeholders and translating requirements into IT solutions.
  • Ability to guide development teams with architectural oversight.
