Overview
As Associate Director in Project Management Infrastructure, you lead delivery and governance across Midlands projects, ensuring safety, quality, and financial control while shaping client outcomes. You will drive cross-functional teamwork, interface with clients and consultants, and contribute to regional growth. This role offers scope to develop a team of Project Managers and win new work, supporting Turner & Townsend’s mission to deliver impactful infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Define overall project success criteria (time, cost, technical and performance)
- Ensure awareness of quality, safety, health and environment issues by the line manager
- Establish governance, processes and systems for the project
- Produce detailed project plan
- Advise on resource procurement
- Lead and facilitate the cross-functional project team
- Apply performance management techniques
- Manage the change control process
- Monitor and advise on project finances
- Manage information flow with client through regular meetings and written communications
- Prepare formal project progress and other reports
- Interface with client and other consultants at all project stages
- Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report to line manager
- Assist in production of bid documentation
- Knowledge management: capture and input learnings into internal database
- Financial management: ensure prompt invoicing and monitor financial status via FMS
- Process improvement: propose internal process enhancements to line manager
Key requirements
- Experience on major infrastructure projects (Rail, Highways, Utilities, Aviation and Power)
- NEC accreditation preferred
- Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction
