Principal Data Scientist – Water Sector

Overview

As a Principal Data Scientist at Stantec, you will lead advanced analytics initiatives to drive digital transformation in the water sector. You will work with Analysts and Data Engineers to shape data-driven strategies for asset optimization and smarter investments. You will develop predictive insights, build intelligent tools, and mentor colleagues while collaborating with clients to deliver high-impact outcomes. This role combines technical leadership with client-facing delivery to help expand Stantec’s digital services and growth.

Key requirements

• Proficient in Python with ability to develop data visualisations and deploy ML models
• Experience deploying solutions in Azure cloud
• Understanding of DevOps, version control, and integration into client operations
• Knowledge of MS Power Platform with capability to design solutions using Power BI and Power Apps
• Strong storytelling with data and ability to influence stakeholders
