Overview
In this role you lead and grow an architectural service within the industrial and logistics sector. You will win work, lead commissions and deliver projects while developing a growing team from the Soho office (with options for Birmingham or Leicester). You act as Lead Designer on complex projects, managing the design process across all RIBA stages and aligning with the firm’s business strategy. You will strengthen client relationships, secure new opportunities and deliver robust architectural solutions as part of a collaborative leadership team. Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of multiple architectural projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, programme, commercial objectives and client expectations are met
- Act as Lead Designer on complex industrial and logistics projects, coordinating consultants and guiding the design through RIBA Stages 0–6
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients to generate repeat business and new commissions
- Support Directors with business development activities including networking, client presentations, fee proposals, tenders and strategic growth
- Manage project programmes, resources, budgets and design teams to ensure efficient, profitable delivery with high standards
- Produce, review and coordinate technical drawings, planning submissions, tender information, construction details and NBS specifications; mentor junior staff
Key requirements
- Demonstrable experience acting as Lead Designer delivering major projects through all RIBA Stages 0–6
- Strong knowledge of UK Town Planning policy, Building Regulations and relevant British Standards
- Experience producing technical drawing packages, tender/construction details and comprehensive NBS specifications
- Excellent presentation and communication skills for clients and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams while developing junior staff
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
