Overview

As Manager Logistics & Trade Compliance, you will steer the logistics and trade compliance for major offshore projects, ensuring efficient material flow and compliant operations. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, shape logistics strategy, and coordinate with global providers to meet schedule and quality targets. You will translate policies into practical guidance, resolve complex logistical challenges, and influence project decisions. This role offers the opportunity to impact execution across onshore and offshore assets within a longstanding energy industry player.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project’s logistics effort and oversee the logistics staff
  • Develop and maintain project logistics schedules and specifications
  • Coordinate with global freight forwarders, regional providers, and subcontractors
  • Support logistics estimating, budgeting, and bid processes
  • Drive procurement-related logistics activities and supplier engagement
  • Ensure compliance with McDermott policies and training requirements
  • Develop project logistics plans interfacing with procurement, expediting, and subcontracting
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Client, fabrication yards, and subcontractors on logistics of materials and equipment
  • Manage risk, performance reviews, and escalation related to logistics execution

Key requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a related discipline or business/SCM preferred
  • 10+ years in capital project logistics
  • Extensive domestic and international logistics experience with contracts and procurement
  • Strong knowledge of trade compliance and import/export regulations
  • Analytical, process-mapping and improvement skills
  • Ability to learn complex software and teach others
  • Proven leadership and teamwork abilities
  • SPM and JDE experience preferred
  • Professional certification in logistics, supply chain, customs or project management advantageous
  • Namibia customs/port/maritime knowledge desirable
  • Offshore/oil and gas, subsea, marine construction or EPC/EPCI project experience
  • Experience with international freight forwarding, customs clearance, heavy-lift transport and marine logistics
  • Experience in managing temporary importation, bonded cargo, duty/tax arrangements
