Overview
As an Associate Building Services Engineer in our London team, you will lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services across heritage, healthcare, custodial, and other complex estates. You’ll work within a collaborative, cross‑functional group, shaping projects for national clients while developing your leadership and technical scope. The role offers training, career progression, and exposure to international colleagues through the Artelia Group. You’ll influence projects from feasibility to handover, ensuring quality, time, and budget alignment.

Responsibilities
- Lead design and management of a wide range of building services projects
- Deliver high‑quality mechanical solutions across heritage, healthcare, custodial, energy, and public sector environments
- Ensure on‑time delivery, budget adherence and quality standards
- Oversee cost management, feasibility studies, consultancy, design, and project/construction management
- Manage contract administration and full project lifecycle support
- Engage with clients, contractors, and end‑users
- Contribute to business development via bid proposals and client presentations
- Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians
- Assist in resource planning and overall cost control
- Ensure compliance with health and safety practices
Key requirements
- Significant experience in mechanical building services/HVAC design including domestic water services, ventilation, heating and cooling
- Professional registration or status: CEng or IEng with engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Hands‑on knowledge of IES, MagiCAD and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM
- Good verbal communication skills; ability to coach and supervise staff
- Business development and proposal writing experience
- Knowledge of construction design processes and procurement arrangements
- Resource planning and management experience
- Experience with Revit MEP
