Overview
As Engineering Manager, you will shape and execute the NPI technical roadmap for pump technology, reporting to the VP Engineering Dry Pumps. You will align technical direction with program delivery and drive readiness and business outcomes. You’ll strengthen engineering capability across the UK GTC through a structured rotation program and collaboration with global centers in Korea and China. This role combines leadership, technical strategy, and cross-functional execution to advance scalable, innovative solutions.

Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, motor, controls) and provide technical governance
- Align technical roadmap with program pipeline, prioritizing, managing dependencies, and guiding critical decisions
- Translate market, reliability, manufacturing, and cost constraints into actionable engineering strategy
- Promote rapid prototyping, data-driven decisions, and disciplined innovation
- Develop engineering capabilities through talent programs and rotations across global sites
- Influence product portfolio and program decisions via evaluated options, risks, and escalation to leadership
- Encourage standardization, modular design, and component reuse to improve time-to-market, quality, cost, serviceability, and sustainability
- Mentor and cultivate a high-performance, diverse, and collaborative engineering culture
Key requirements
- Experience in vacuum pump development, semiconductor equipment, or complex engineered products
- Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary engineering development across mechanical, electrical, software, motor, controls, and system-level domains
- Experience creating and governing technical development roadmaps aligned with product and portfolio roadmaps
- Deep understanding of pump architecture, performance, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability trade-offs
- Experience building engineering capability across global and matrix organizations (UK, Korea, China)
- Strong appreciation of commercial drivers, product competitiveness, cost, sustainability, and customer value
- Strong technical leadership and ability to set direction
- Ability to align roadmaps in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Influencing and decision-shaping at senior levels
