Overview

In this role you will lead end-to-end sourcing for engineered products and services within LMUK’s Ampthill site, focusing on delivering best value and managing complex supplier relationships. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Quality to meet programme needs across arms of defence projects, from PCB assemblies to box-builds and harnesses. The position emphasizes risk management, governance, and continuous improvement in a multi-disciplinary environment. You’ll work within a hybrid pattern and contribute to major defence programmes with global supplier ties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing for engineered products including tenders, RFQs, negotiation and contract award
  • Manage strategic, critical and tactical supplier relationships to achieve best value
  • Monitor supplier performance against Schedule, Quality, Cost and Technical requirements and drive corrective actions
  • Act as primary interface between suppliers and internal customers to ensure clear communication and issue resolution
  • Exercise delegated procurement authority and manage supplier agreements and purchase orders with governance
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across organisational levels and influence outcomes
  • Support bids, proposals and review activities with supply chain input
  • Drive continuous improvement within procurement and wider supply chain

Key requirements

  • Experience procuring complex drawn items (Mechanical Assemblies, PCB-A, Box Build, Cable Harnesses)
  • Ability to manage multiple strategic, critical and tactical supplier relationships
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks with effective strategies
  • Strong commercial skills with ability to negotiate best-value agreements
  • Proven adherence to procurement procedures, accuracy and timely procurement execution
  • Ability to work independently and develop solutions under general direction
  • Advocate of continuous improvement and delivery of measurable improvements
  • SC security clearance capability (required level)
