Account Governance Manager

Overview

In this role you strengthen risk management, governance, and control oversight across reconciliations and account substantiation. You will review and challenge integrity, drive end-to-end process improvements, and partner with stakeholders to embed best practice. As a subject-matter expert, you lead a high-performing team, resolve issues, and align activities with organizational risk and governance standards. This role offers exposure to cross-functional collaboration and strategic change initiatives that enhance operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen risk management, governance, and control oversight across reconciliations and account substantiation processes
• Review, challenge, and report on the integrity and completeness of reconciliations
• Drive simplification, optimisation, and end-to-end value in complex processes
• Lead and develop a high-performing team and engage stakeholders to resolve issues
• Promote best practice and alignment with Account Ownership & Reconciliation Standards
• Support change initiatives and provide analytical insights to improve performance and controls
• Identify opportunities to mitigate risk and strengthen policies/procedures
• Communicate complex information to senior stakeholders

Key requirements

• Proven people and stakeholder management skills
• Strong experience in risk management, governance, or control assurance within financial operations
• Experience driving process improvement including automation or AI
• Solid understanding of reconciliation, substantiation, and financial control frameworks
• Strong analytical capability to interpret data and resolve complex issues across teams
• Experience with reconciliation/substantiation tools such as Intellimatch and INFoRM
• Knowledge of Account Ownership & Reconciliation Standards and governance processes
• Relevant industry qualifications in financial reporting, reconciliations, or Lean
• Understanding of how the Account Governance team fits into end-to-end framework
