Overview
In this role you lead the engineering design delivery for a portfolio of water recycling projects within the Anglian Water one Alliance. You will head a multidisciplinary team and drive sustainable, low-carbon solutions that enhance wastewater treatment and environmental performance. You’ll collaborate across the alliance, champion digital methods and standardisation, and focus on outcomes, risk management, and value. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape critical water infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design delivery for water recycling and wastewater projects across the region
- Develop and manage Engineering Project Plans (scope, programme, cost, risk, resources)
- Direct multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, civil) to deliver high-quality designs
- Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders for integrated designs
- Drive affordability, value, and low-carbon, sustainable solutions
- Ensure CDM compliance and promote a strong health and safety culture in design
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team
- Support innovation, standardisation, and digital engineering (including 3D modelling)
- Coordinate with wider Alliance functions (delivery, procurement, construction) to achieve successful outcomes
Key requirements
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Chartered status or progress towards Chartered status
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering capital project designs
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and design responsibilities
- Experience in water sector or major infrastructure projects
- Experience managing risk, programme delivery, and project costs
- Strong leadership, collaboration and decision-making skills
