Overview
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will drive the delivery of Mechanical and HVAC projects across diverse construction environments. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, subcontractors and suppliers to meet programme, budget and quality targets. You’ll work from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring safety and compliance while solving installation challenges. The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio and opportunities to contribute to project success in a collaborative, client-facing setting.

Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and drive Mechanical and HVAC projects from pre-construction to completion
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site activities to align with the project programme
- Interpret drawings, specifications and schedules; review technical documentation
- Contribute to programmes; track milestones and critical dates
- Coordinate procurement activities including PO management and deliveries
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Attend project and coordination meetings and provide progress updates
- Monitor quality and progress; resolve technical or installation issues
- Support documentation: RFIs, submittals, progress reports and records
- Assist cost control by tracking expenditure and procurement against budgets
- Coordinate inspection, testing and commissioning tasks
- Prepare O&M information and handover documentation
- Ensure health & safety compliance and site requirements
- Maintain communication with the project team and escalate risks and issues
- Identify delays or commercial risks and escalate to the Project Manager
Key requirements
- Experience as Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Building Services Engineer in construction
- Experience on Mechanical and/or HVAC projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations and construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and suppliers
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety in construction environments
- Desirable: relevant Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or construction qualification
- Desirable: CSCS or relevant competency card
- Desirable: SMSTS or SSSTS
