Overview

In this leadership role, you will steer a 20-strong logistics and operations team to deliver efficient global shipping, customs compliance, and service outcomes. You’ll partner with Manufacturing, Warehousing, Service and Commercial teams to drive performance, continuous improvement, and readiness for growth. A key objective is scaling operations to meet rising demand while upholding high customer service standards. You will shape processes, coach managers, and deliver strategic initiatives that support Project 200K and the company’s growth plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a ~20-person team including three managers, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Oversee outbound logistics to ship Renishaw products worldwide from Group Manufacturing and UK warehouses
  • Ensure customs compliance for inbound/outbound shipments in line with regulations
  • Manage service operations for returns, repairs, calibration and servicing to meet customer expectations
  • Support Group Manufacturing sales activities by facilitating clear communication between manufacturing and customers
  • Coach and develop team capabilities through mentoring, succession planning and performance management
  • Monitor and report on departmental performance against objectives, processes and service standards
  • Drive delivery of key projects and growth initiatives, including scale-up for Project 200K
  • Collaborate with UK Warehouse Manager to define and improve customer service and performance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and value
  • Build strong internal/external stakeholder relationships and manage escalation when needed
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and quality standards

Key requirements

  • Operational leadership experience in logistics, supply chain, customer service or related field
  • Experience leading and developing managers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong people management, coaching and development skills
  • Experience implementing and monitoring performance measures and service targets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
