Overview
As Manager in the 1st Line Risk & Controls for Finance, you will help design and run first-line control frameworks that support accurate governance and reporting. You’ll work within a global asset management context to implement standards, coordinate RCA/RCSA, and track remediation across Finance and related controls. Your role combines analytics, documentation, and stakeholder engagement to move risk management from reactive handling to proactive, evidence-based monitoring. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence control design and assurance across a complex, multinational organisation.

Responsibilities
- Support and enhance first-line control frameworks, standards, and operating expectations.
- Document and maintain minimum standards for control design, evidence, MI, escalation, issue/risk management and testing.
- Ensure consistent application of central standards across business areas.
- Maintain guidance, templates, trackers for embedded Business Control Officers.
- Apply Finance-specific controls to key processes including reporting, cost, supplier lifecycle and MI.
- Coordinate RCA/RCSA activities across business areas with planning, tracking and quality reviews.
- Aggregate RCA/RCSA results into thematic reporting for senior management.
- Produce risk and control MI, dashboards and governance materials; validate data and ensure timeliness.
- Track risk issues, control gaps, remediation plans and actions to completion; escalate overdue items.
- Support risk-based control testing, evidence gathering, and result documentation; assist with thematic reviews.
- Provide PMO support for central 1st Line Controls initiatives and ISAE 3402-related activities.
- Engage with Business Control Officers and stakeholders to promote risk awareness and consistent ways of working across the First Line.
Key requirements
- Relevant experience in operational risk, controls, audit, assurance, compliance or finance controls within financial services.
- Understanding of Finance processes and controls including reporting, supplier payments, reconciliations, and governance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail; ability to translate risk data into insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present clearly.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to build relationships across teams and functions.
