Quality Engineer

Overview

In this role you will work with the Quality Team to support QC activities for large-scale intralogistic installations. You will assist the QA Manager and Lead Quality Engineer across multiple commissioning areas, coordinating quality inspections and NCRs while liaising with clients, site teams, and suppliers. You will help develop installation standards, perform audits, and manage inspection processes to ensure regulatory and project compliance. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment that values Lean, PDCA, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support QC activities for projects under the Quality Team and QA Manager
• Collaborate with Lead Quality Engineer across multiple commissioning areas
• Collate and submit quality reports to clients
• Generate and progress Non-Conformity Reports (NCR)
• Monitor installation against BUK installation standards for compliance
• Perform internal and external audits
• Witness FATs and lead investigations with suppliers
• Manage the Level 6 inspections process and update RQM for mechanical, electrical and steelwork
• Liaise between client, site team and suppliers
• Manage Defect Registers and oversee close-out
• Engage with LEAN and Quality Walks (5S+1)
• Provide coverage in the absence of the Lead Quality Engineer
• Support continual development of BUK installation standards

Key requirements

• Electrical background, preferably in a baggage handling environment
• HNC in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent Quality background
• Min. 2 years’ experience in quality assessments
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 or 2015
• CSCS / SSSTS or SMSTS (advantage)
• Proficient MS Office user
