In this fixed-term role, you will lead the analysis and design work for AI/Automation initiatives within DTS to translate business needs into implementable requirements. You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand problems, model processes, and shape solution options that deliver measurable benefits for the university. You will own elicitation activities, support testing and service transition, and help drive business change to maximise value. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of business analysis and technology, enabling scalable, governance-aligned solutions. Responsibilities
- Partner with AI/Automation team to perform business and technical analysis
- Lead requirements elicitation with stakeholders
- Analyse processes and data flows; translate needs into clear requirements for delivery teams
- Develop solution options and ensure alignment with business goals
- Support testing and service transition; contribute to change initiatives
- Research business needs and current technology environment; identify appropriate solutions to bridge gaps
- Ensure problems are correctly scoped and addressed with appropriate tools and approaches
Key requirements
- Significant experience authoring BA documentation (business requirements, options analysis, BPMN 2.0, user stories, test scripts, acceptance criteria)
- Ability to gather/interpret user requirements and develop user-centric solutions
- Translate requirements into user stories, use cases, process models, data models, and technical specs
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies with mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, platform governance, data protection, access controls, and school policies
