Transport Planner

Overview

As a Transport Planner, you will contribute to a busy team delivering transport planning for residential, logistics, retail, leisure and education projects. You will prepare transport notes, travel plans, and site access appraisals, while modelling junction capacity and designing highway improvements. The role combines technical analysis with graphics work to support high-quality outcomes. You will work toward our business targets in a collaborative, professional environment with opportunities to influence development-related transport solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, and Site Access Appraisals using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Model junction capacity with ARCADY and PICADY
• Design traffic signals with LinSig
• Preliminary design of access, junction improvements and highway schemes using AutoCAD
• Conduct Swept Path Analysis with AutoTrack
• Create high-quality graphics using GIS packages and/or Corel Draw
• Contribute to achieving business targets

Key requirements

• Formal education in Transport Engineering, Geography or Transport Planning
• Experience in development-focused transport planning
• Professional membership or pursuing membership (CIHT or ICE)
• Excellent communication and high work standard; accuracy, attention to detail; proactive and decisive
