Data Architect

Overview

In this role you will define and deliver the group data architecture strategy to underpin BI and self-service analytics across a large, multi-country organisation. You will establish the technical vision, standards, and frameworks to ensure scalable and secure data solutions. Working closely with BI engineers and senior stakeholders, you’ll evaluate and adopt new technologies while balancing architectural excellence with practical delivery. This is a brand-new role as part of a major enterprise-wide modernisation programme, offering influence across operating units and a clear impact on data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the group data architecture strategy supporting BI and analytics
• Establish technical vision, standards, and frameworks for scalable, secure data solutions
• Collaborate with Lead BI Engineers, BI Developers, and senior stakeholders to guide data architecture decisions
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance data capabilities and delivery

Key requirements

• Solid experience in data architecture with a track record of enterprise-scale data solutions
• Proficiency in data modelling techniques (dimensional modelling, data vault, medallion architecture) and strong SQL skills
• Experience with cloud data platforms, particularly AWS, Databricks and Snowflake; Azure or GCP exposure beneficial
• Understanding of modern data engineering patterns (ETL/ELT, data lakes, lakehouse, warehousing)
• Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and regulatory compliance
