Overview
As Associate Director/Project Director in Estimating, you lead the production of robust cost estimates and cost plans for defence projects. You will drive best-practice estimating, support bids, and guide a team while engaging with clients and cross-functional colleagues. Your work directly informs client decisions and new business opportunities within a high-security defence context. You will shape estimating capabilities and contribute to strategic objectives across programmes and major projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead the production of accurate, comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects/programmes
- Promote and develop estimating best practices within the firm
- Support or lead bids for new work and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Provide direction and mentorship to staff and act as a role model
- Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages
- Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients
- Stay current with developments in estimating and related technology
- Contribute to knowledge management and departmental objectives
Key requirements
- Proven estimating leadership experience
- Defence sector estimating experience
- Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience
- Experience using estimating software packages
- Experience of working on Major Programmes and Projects
- Experience in leading and managing teams
- Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / ACostE
