Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Building Services team, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical building services across diverse projects. You will work within a multidisciplinary environment to coordinate designs with clients, contractors and other disciplines, ensuring programme, budget and quality targets are met. You’ll provide technical guidance and mentoring, shaping high-quality specifications and calculations that support successful project delivery. This role offers exposure to varied sectors and the chance to progress toward chartership within a respected engineering practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services from concept to project completion
• Manage electrical design packages across a varied project portfolio
• Produce high-quality technical designs, specifications, calculations and documentation
• Coordinate electrical designs with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders
• Support project delivery to programme, budget and quality standards
• Contribute to project planning, organisation and commercial management
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior engineers and technicians
• Build effective client relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• Strong experience in electrical building services design and engineering
• Experience leading electrical design packages across building projects
• Experience in multidisciplinary design environments across sectors like commercial, residential, healthcare, education, leisure or mixed-use
• Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership (IET or CIBSE)
• Excellent technical design, problem-solving, planning and project management skills
• Experience with industry-standard electrical design software and BIM; Revit beneficial
• Strong communication, commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines
