Overview

In this role you will drive project governance and delivery across multi‑discipline teams. You will maintain authoritative project records, generate insights, and report to stakeholders to support informed decisions. You will enforce governance, safety, and quality standards while escalating strategic issues as needed. You will lead and develop the project team, foster collaboration, and ensure objectives are met on time, on budget, and within scope. This is an opportunity to contribute to Scotland’s energy and infrastructure projects at a major contractor with a strong focus on safe, value-driven delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead governance reviews and update the Digital Briefcase per governance rules
  • Maintain accurate project records (progress, diaries) and prepare internal/external reports
  • Liaise with stakeholders and ensure delivery aligns with delegated authority
  • Escalate strategic issues and risks beyond delegated authority
  • Provide accurate reporting and recommendations for informed decisions
  • Oversee scope management and ensure coordinated team efforts
  • Support safety, health, and environmental processes and incident investigations
  • Lead and develop project team members through coaching and mentorship
  • Manage subcontractors, procurement plans, and ensure timely delivery of resources
  • Oversee quality activities and KPI achievement; drive improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules and change control processes
  • Ensure commercial controls, budget adherence, and cost recovery opportunities

Key requirements

  • Track record of delivering projects successfully
  • Good understanding of standard contract forms
  • Proficient in commercial/project management communications
  • Experience implementing safe systems of work
