Overview

In this role you will lead the manufacturing strategy for PCAs and final assemblies at Eastbourne, driving cost-effective, innovative production. You will enable the seamless introduction of new products, ensuring quality, delivery, safety, and cost targets are met. Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement a forward-looking capital investment plan for equipment renewal and capability expansion
  • Set and drive ambitious OEE targets with robust support across manufacturing zones
  • Collaborate with NPI teams to ensure manufacturability and balanced engineering resources
  • Standardize NPI processes (routing timelines, DFMEA/PFMEA, build standards) and ensure readiness for volume production
  • Ensure active participation in MR, TR, and PCP processes to embed design-for-manufacture excellence
  • Optimize shop-floor layout for current and future operations and product introductions
  • Lead SHE program and embed safety, quality, and process discipline into daily activities
  • Drive VTPS deployment with the BPI Lead to foster continuous improvement across site
  • Strengthen and evolve Manufacturing Engineering organisation through recruitment, capability development, and performance management
  • Manage cost-centre budgets and headcount with accurate forecasting and transparent reporting
  • Support Operations Manager in delivering site OGSM and long-term development
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and safety procedures

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/electronics or manufacturing engineering or related field
  • Strong experience in lean manufacturing
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing processes and assembly (SMT and through-hole)
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and packaging
  • People management experience with coaching ability
  • Knowledge of PFMEA and DFMEA
  • Fluent English communication (spoken and written)
  • Understanding of MRP systems, ideally SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
