Overview

In this role you will drive the council’s commercial intelligence and performance reporting. You will shape how procurement performance is measured and how insights inform senior leadership and governance. You’ll embed evidence-based decision making, continuous improvement, and accountability across Commercial and Procurement Services. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain performance reporting frameworks aligned to strategic priorities
  • Produce high-quality management information, dashboards and performance packs for senior leaders
  • Analyze procurement, supplier, contract, spend and financial data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Improve data quality and reporting processes to establish a trusted information source
  • Support audit, assurance and governance with accurate evidence and analysis
  • Monitor strategic priorities including social value, ESG, supplier performance and value for money
  • Lead and develop team members, fostering continuous improvement and data-driven decision making

Key requirements

  • Experience designing and delivering performance reporting frameworks and BI solutions
  • Advanced data analysis skills with large datasets using Excel and visualization tools
  • Experience in regulated or governance-led environments ensuring accurate, evidence-based reporting
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate procurement objectives into metrics
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills for senior and diverse stakeholders
  • Experience improving data quality and embedding robust governance across performance information
