Overview
In this role you will own Airwallex’s banking partnerships strategy for the UK and Europe, helping scale our global collections and payouts network. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external financial institutions to expand the partner ecosystem. You will navigate complex negotiations and due diligence to onboard and manage key partners, shaping Airwallex’s position in European payments. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead banking partnerships strategy for UK and Europe to support Airwallex’s global payments network
- Manage strategic partnership opportunities and serve as primary liaison with partners
- Conduct market research on competitive landscape to maintain leadership in payments
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate with local banks, acquirers, and payment methods
- Coordinate due diligence and manage onboarding with new partners
- Develop yourself as an industry thought leader
Key requirements
- 7+ years of experience with financial institutions, banks, and payment networks
- Strong network of banking partners and payment networks in UK/Europe
- Good understanding of compliance and onboarding with banks
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Commercial)
- International/cross-border relationship management
- Proven track record in dynamic, tech-led business environments
- Exceptional attention to detail and relationship-building abilities
- Exceptional communicator
