Overview
In this role you will design and optimize manufacturing processes for an aerospace precision environment, applying lean methods and Six Sigma to reduce waste and variation. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, collaborate across functions, and support product development efforts to minimize cost and maximize product life. The position sits within a high-precision Eaton aerospace plant, delivering components for leading customers and driving reliability. You will contribute to shaping efficient, capable production with a focus on safety and cost effectiveness.

Responsibilities
- Develop robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes aligned with lean manufacturing
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process issues
- Manage cost-out initiatives and support continuous improvement culture
- Apply lean techniques to reduce waste and meet customer expectations
- Understand and control source of variation and tolerance stack impacts
- Utilize Six Sigma Design and Development approaches
- Participate in concurrent engineering and critical design reviews
- Execute Design for Manufacturing and value engineering where applicable
- Create work breakdown structures for cost estimates
- Coordinate manufacturing liaisons from product inception to shipment
- Develop and integrate new processes for competitive advantage
- Prepare Capital Appropriation Requests with payback/NPV analysis for equipment
- Provide training to associates
Key requirements
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
- Understanding of Six Sigma concepts and tools
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (8D, root cause analysis, FMEA, Gage R&R, control charts)
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM and MS Office; experience with Minitab is a plus
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles (metal cutting, tool design, welding, etc.)
- Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams
- Understanding of ProLaunch and quality processes (ISO9001, AS9100) is advantageous
- Degree in Six Sigma or related subject is a plus
