Overview

As Senior Cloud & Platform Engineering Lead, you will own the design, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise cloud platforms and migration initiatives. You’ll drive LSEG Post Trade’s cloud strategy with a focus on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), automation, and cloud-native engineering. You lead high-performing teams, shape platform strategy, and ensure secure, scalable cloud services. This hands-on leadership role demands technical depth and strategic influence across engineering, architecture, and business partners. You will shape platforms, support hybrid-cloud integration, and advance governance and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize AWS-based cloud platforms (EKS, Kubernetes, networking, identity, observability) for enterprise workloads
  • Lead end-to-end cloud migration programmes: assessment, readiness, refactoring, transition planning
  • Shape and deliver platform roadmaps for scalable, resilient, cost-efficient operations
  • Champion automation-first engineering using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance with governance and architectural patterns
  • Enable hybrid-cloud integration and selective Azure adoption where needed
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, and operations to enforce guardrails and guidelines
  • Lead and develop engineering teams and foster ownership, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate sprint planning and delivery across multiple engineering streams
  • Represent Cloud & Platform Engineering in governance, architecture, and programme forums
  • Act as focal point for complex cloud and Kubernetes challenges and make informed decisions

Key requirements

  • Deep AWS expertise (EKS, IAM, networking, compute, observability, security)
  • Hands-on Kubernetes and container platforms operations and optimization
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD tooling
  • Hybrid cloud architectures, networking, identity, and security controls
  • Experience applying SRE principles, observability, and distributed systems at scale
  • Proven track record leading cloud transformation and migration programmes
  • Strong leadership and collaboration across engineering teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to translate complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfort in fast-paced, enterprise-scale environments with multiple priorities
