Overview
In this role you lead Building Management Systems (BMS) controls engineering within WSP’s Building Technology Systems team. You’ll design and deliver HVAC control strategies that meet performance goals and coordinate integration across building services to achieve smart, energy-efficient outcomes. You collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to drive BMS-enabled building experiences for iconic projects and large-scale facilities. Your work supports innovative, sustainable, and secure smart building solutions at scale.

Responsibilities
- Develop and engineer HVAC control designs with performance-driven focus
- Coordinate delivery of HVAC controls including motor control panels, software config, graphics and commissioning scope
- Improve mechanical and electrical building system designs through controls engineering
- Engage with wider design teams to achieve BMS and smart building outcomes beyond direct responsibility
- Lead systems integration design activities across building services
Key requirements
- Strategic BMS controls engineering experience
- Understanding of BMS software and best practices
- Delivery of HVAC operations descriptions and sequences of operations
- Consulting experience with multidisciplinary collaboration and project leadership
- Mechanical Engineering background or controls-focused MEP engineering
- Experience in control and automation in critical environments
- Knowledge of major manufacturers (Tridium Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell, Trend, Delta Controls)
- Ability to design and specify implementations and roadmaps for BMS technologies
- Coordination of subcontractors and internal resources for full BMS delivery
- Awareness of energy-reduction trends in HVAC and building technology
- Report and specification writing skills
- BCIA BCM01-03 modules completed (or equivalent) and Chartered status pathway with CIBSE/Engineering Council
