Overview
In this role you will steer utility connections and infrastructure across a growing national development programme. You will work within a cross-functional team to ensure timely, cost-aware utility deliverables from site assessment to handover. You’ll manage connections across 20+ live developments and oversee a pipeline of future sites, shaping how utilities support project delivery. This is a hands-on role at scale, combining technical oversight with commercial and coordination responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Manage utility-related activities across multiple live and future developments
- Conduct utility due diligence for prospective land acquisitions
- Obtain utility searches, infrastructure reports and underground mapping surveys
- Assess network capacity and devise viable connection strategies
- Oversee electricity, water, drainage, fibre and utility connection applications
- Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, water authorities and fibre providers
- Review utility quotations, designs and technical reports
- Coordinate site meetings and installations
- Manage G99 applications for renewable energy connections
- Arrange meter installations and utility service activations
- Submit drainage and Section 106 applications
- Coordinate CCTV drainage surveys and report findings
- Collaborate with Development, Technical, Legal, Commercial, Finance and Construction teams
- Raise purchase orders, monitor costs and approve invoices
- Maintain trackers, programmes and utility records
- Identify risks and cost-saving opportunities throughout development
Key requirements
- Previous experience in Utilities Manager, Utilities Coordinator, Infrastructure Coordinator, Utility Connections or similar
- Strong knowledge of electricity infrastructure and HV/LV connections
- Experience liaising with utility providers and network operators
- Understanding of water, drainage and fibre connection processes
- Ability to review technical information, utility reports and network designs
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Construction, development, housebuilding or infrastructure sector experience would be advantageous
