Electrical Site Engineer (Major Projects – Scotland)

Overview

In this role you will lead the electrical delivery for major construction projects across Scotland and Northern England. You will work within cross‑functional teams to ensure electrical design handover, testing, and commissioning are completed to standards. You’ll chair technical meetings with design, operations, and DNO/clients to align on deliverables and timescales. The position focuses on compliant, high‑quality execution that meets client expectations, with exposure to renewables and embedded generation contexts.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical scope across a portfolio of construction projects from design handover to completion
• Provide technical support to Construction Supervisor and Project Manager
• Chair project technical meetings with design, operations, DNOs and client technical advisors
• Review design processes to ensure readiness for handover to construction
• Support delivery programme to meet timescales and optimize efficiency
• Ensure electrical works comply with DNO G81, BS standards and client ERs
• Determine labour and resource needs; assist with technical tender scope
• Deliver projects that exceed client expectations

Key requirements

• 5 years of experience in similar construction projects involving earthing
• Experience with standard construction contracts (e.g., NEC, FIDIC)
• Qualified as SAP LV & HV
• HND or degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
• Knowledge of DNO G81 and BS standards, and client engineering requirements
