Overview
As a Network Engineer, you will help sustain and optimize mission-critical networks for a leading prop trading house. You join a small, high-caliber team in London and work on complex, latency-sensitive infrastructure. You will learn about intricate trading networks and gain exposure to quantitative trading systems. This role offers hands-on growth in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment where precise networking and proactive problem solving matter.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues
- Perform engineering activities to maximize network performance
- Learn microwave network planning including frequency and interference analysis
- Support and configure proprietary black boxes
- Daily health checks using proprietary and industry monitoring tools
- Support project implementation
- Determine power configurations and forecast channel/capacity requirements
Key requirements
- BSc in a computer or network-based subject
- Sub 7 years of commercial experience in a networks capacity
- CCNA minimum
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell, Java, JavaScript)
- Linux administration
- Self-driven with ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn new technologies
- Ability to engineer projects and produce required documents
