Overview
As a Product Engineer at Accurx, you will own features end-to-end, collaborating with clinicians and product managers to shape architecture and rollout. You’ll engage with NHS GPs and practice staff to understand problems, design scalable APIs, and ensure reliable, clinician-friendly software in a healthcare context. You’ll balance feature delivery with system health and coaching teams toward sustainable decisions. This role blends product thinking with engineering judgment to push the boundaries of AI-assisted healthcare tooling.

Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end from problem refinement to rollout and evolution
- Engage with NHS GPs, practice staff and patients to understand problems through research sessions
- Design architecture and API boundaries with system-wide considerations
- Maintain high quality and safety standards for clinical context software
- Make architectural decisions to keep the codebase sustainable while shipping features
- Push back constructively when needed and commit fully when decisions are made
- Shape work by starting from user problems and guiding execution across teams
- Experiment with AI tools while applying prudent judgment
Key requirements
- Experience building production software across the stack (backend or frontend, capable of end-to-end ownership)
- Strong ability to reason about systems, break down ambiguity, and anticipate trade-offs
- Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage problem definition
- Commitment to engineering quality, managing technical debt, and critiquing AI outputs
- Curiosity about AI tools and when to rely on them
- Strong domain expertise in at least one area and ability to apply it to real systems
- Ability to influence across teams and own outcomes beyond tasks
- Willingness to learn and experiment with AI features in a health tech context
