Project Structural Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead structural design and technical delivery for a variety of building and infrastructure projects in a collaborative Bristol office. You will translate concepts into construction-ready designs, working with civil, geotechnical and environmental teams to meet UK regulations and Eurocodes. You’ll contribute to practical, innovative solutions and support clients through design reviews, construction and documentation. This is an opportunity to advance toward Chartership in a respected multidisciplinary consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Produce structural designs, calculations and drawings for steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures
• Deliver projects from concept to detailed design and construction support
• Coordinate with architects, contractors and other engineering teams
• Prepare specifications, design reports and technical documentation
• Attend design reviews, client meetings and site inspections
• Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes and best practice
• Contribute to practical, sustainable engineering solutions
• Support mentoring and progression toward Chartership

Key requirements

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Consultancy experience delivering structural projects
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes
• Experience using structural analysis software such as TEDDS, STAAD, ETABS, Robot or similar
• AutoCAD, Revit or BIM experience
• Desire to progress professionally with Chartership (IStructE or ICE) advantageous
