HV Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you design robust, efficient electrical systems for infrastructure and building projects within Ramboll’s Critical Systems team. You will collaborate with senior engineers to guide projects from concept to delivery, while incorporating sustainability and innovative energy solutions. You’ll engage clients and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure compliant, practical designs that meet client requirements. This position offers work on diverse, challenging projects in a supportive, open culture with a clear sustainability focus.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems (HV/LV power distribution, standby power, UPS, Earthing) for infrastructure and building projects and produce drawings, specs, and calculations.
• Collaborate with Senior/Principal Engineers to provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle and stay abreast of industry developments.
• Integrate sustainable design principles and drive energy efficiency improvements.
• Engage with clients to understand needs and present design concepts and updates.
• Plan and manage projects in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery and cohesive solutions.

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; professional qualifications (e.g., IEng or working towards Chartership)
• Proven experience in electrical design within power or building services
• Proficiency in Revit; ETAP and Trimble for electrical design
• Solid understanding of UK building regulations, standards, and codes
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
