Software Development Engineer In Test

Overview

In this role you will design and maintain automated test journeys to ensure product quality before deployment. You will collaborate with the development team within a UKI technology transformation program, using Agile practices to deliver business value. You’ll build and run automation spanning multiple test types, with a focus on security and reliability in a hybrid Nottingham environment. This is an opportunity to drive robust testing across evolving products and pipelines, contributing to Experian’s scale and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain automation tests for changes, updates, and enhancements
• Validate product quality before production release
• Develop test harnesses and integrate with CI/CD pipelines
• Maintain and execute test suites (Smoke/ Sanity/ Regression)
• Perform White Box, Black Box, End-to-End/Integration, Performance, UI and Security testing
• Collaborate with development teams using Agile practices to deliver value
• Manage and integrate in-house testing tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Quality Centre)

Key requirements

• Experience with automation testing and OO programming
• Experience producing and executing manual and automation scripts with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST-Assured
• Knowledge of integrating testing with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with test harnesses and handling test tools integration
• Experience in Smoke/Sanity/Regression test development and execution
• Familiarity with White Box, Black Box, E2E/Integration, Performance, UI and Security testing
