Arboriculture Service Lead

Overview

In this strategic leadership role, you will steer Birmingham’s Tree Management Service and related teams to deliver a city-wide arboriculture and woodland programme. You’ll drive the Urban Forest Master Plan, manage contracts and budgets, and use data and GIS insights to improve services. You will champion community engagement and promote the benefits of urban forestry, contributing to biodiversity, sustainability, and wellbeing across the city. This role offers the chance to shape Birmingham’s green infrastructure and make a lasting impact for future generations.

Key requirements

• Significant experience in arboriculture, forestry, or environmental management
• Strong leadership, project management, and financial management skills
• Experience managing contracts and working with diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, urban forestry, and environmental sustainability
