In this role you will advise a broad range of employers and HR professionals on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, supporting strategic workforce projects and senior executives. You will work within a well-established Employment team at a top UK law firm, handling advisory work, investigations, and tribunal-related matters. The position offers exposure to high-quality, cross-sector clients and opportunities to develop as a trusted adviser. Responsibilities
- Advising on employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions, TUPE, outsourcing and reorganisations
- Handling operational HR matters and strategic workforce projects for large employers
- Managing Employment Tribunal claims including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract
- Conducting workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances and misconduct issues
- Advising on restructuring, redundancy, capability and performance management
- Assisting senior executives on appointments, remuneration, service agreements, exits and boardroom disputes
- Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, executive service agreements, policies, bonus schemes and incentives
- Advising on restrictive covenants, confidentiality and protection of business interests
- Supporting multinational organisations on international employment law and cross-border projects
- Negotiating settlements and preparing settlement agreements for employers
Key requirements
- Around 3+ years’ PQE in employment law
- Experience in reputable regional, national or City practice
- Strong technical knowledge across contentious and non-contentious matters
- Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to deliver pragmatic advice
- Experience managing client relationships with increasing autonomy
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
