Electrical Shift Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support a premier West London data center, ensuring 100% uptime through expert electrical or mechanical maintenance. You will join a critical infrastructure team and respond rapidly to alarms, contributing to site SLA objectives. The position blends hands-on maintenance with compliance and safety practices in a 24/7 continental shift. You’ll work to advance reliability, safety, and operational excellence in a demanding, mission-critical environment. This is a hands-on role for engineers who thrive in high-stakes facilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repair of critical plant equipment (Chillers, CRAC units, UPS, Generators, Switchgear)
• Incident response as first on scene to alarms and failures for rapid resolution
• Continental shift pattern coverage (24/7) and site safety compliance
• Maintain site logs and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and SOPs/MOPs/EOPs

Key requirements

• Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in a Critical Environment
• HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) – highly desired; willingness to work toward AP

• Electrical or Mechanical engineering expertise
• Maintenance of Chillers, CRAC units, UPS, Generators, and Switchgear
• PPM and reactive maintenance
• Health & Safety compliance and SOP/MOP/EOP adherence
• Possession or pursuit of HVAP
• Site log management
